Jason Holt and his team of engineers at Google have developed a really neat product called Liquid Galaxy. Even though it's only a part time project of theirs, this video makes it look pretty amazing. The project was originally named "The Holodeck." That was back when it limited to only showing Google Street View. Since then it has evolved to into much more. The application is basically a modified version of Google Earth that has been made to run across multiple nodes. Here is a December blog post about the app from Jason Holt himself.
